In Vienna for the Riichi Mahjong Championships.

It wouldn't be a trip to Austria if we didn't see a Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra performance. I'm glad they don't take themselves too seriously... including using a well timed cuckoo clock and duck call, among other instruments. Walked through Mozart's former Vienna residence yesterday... pretty awesome. Vienna is as beautiful as you could imagine. And a clean safe city... we rode the subway back to our hotel past midnight and felt perfectly safe. Pretty much everyone speaks English, so the language barrier is not an issue. Our hotel is the Hotel Stefanie in Bad Vöslau, which is a quaint sleepy town just outside Vienna. Very beautiful surroundings.

Well, mahjong players are starting to roll in from all over the world... the championship games will be getting started in a day or two.
